The 44 Magnum is a fearsome cartridge. We expect you must not care dearly for anything you would fire one at. That’s why we recommend a round with a bullet that is designed to inflict accentuated damage following impact, such as this one from PMC’s reliable Bronze line of ammunition.
This round’s 240 grain bullet is a soft point. As it burrows through soft tissue, it utilizes its immense energy to deform substantially and tumble around in the process. The wound channel it inflicts in this fashion is simply devastating, especially considering the 44 Magnum’s supersonic muzzle velocity! This bullet’s truncated nose profile isn’t especially high tech – its sloping sides grant it the ability to feed smoothly as well as fly straight, and its flat tip creates a wide, clean entry hole.
