While .45 ACP is known to have impressive stopping power inherently due to its size and velocity, Federal developed this unique jacketed hollow point round to consistently expand to well over half an inch in diameter, usually to about 2x the diamater of an unfired .45 bullet. This expansion significantly reduces the likelihood of overpenetration. The +P pressure offers a slightly deeper penetration than the standard pressure, while maintaining the expansion to make sure that significant damage is caused to the target, and the target only.
