Are you in search of a dependable .45 ACP hollow point? Federal HST is as good as they come. This cartridge has been through extensive testings and has been reviewed time and time again. Your BulkAmmo brethren agree that Federal HST 230 grain +P ammo is brilliant stuff. One of Federal’s premium lines of ammo, HST Tactical is a Law Enforcement round that is carried by many LE agencies all over. The nickel-plated brass cases are of excellent quality, and Federal only uses the best powders and primers for these loads.
Federal has been building ammo in Anoka, MN for the better part of the last century, and HST is perhaps their most impressive technology. While .45 ACP is known to have impressive stopping power inherently due to its size and velocity, Federal developed this unique jacketed hollow point round to consistently expand to well over half an inch in diameter, usually to about 2x the diamater of an unfired .45 bullet. This expansion significantly reduces the likelihood of overpenetration. The +P pressure offers a slightly deeper penetration than the standard pressure, while maintaining the expansion to make sure that significant damage is caused to the target, and the target only.
