All four branches of the U.S. Military currently rely on Black Hills Ammunition of Rapid City, South Dakota. Admittedly, their demand for 357 Magnum ammo is probably nil – but who knows? If a three-star Navy SEAL wanted to carry a 357 Mag, could anyone tell him not to?

This round is armed with a 158 grain jacketed hollow point bullet, just a big, surly chunk of copper and lead designed to do some real damage together. The bullet’s jacket sports symmetrical notches around its tip to direct more uniform expansion, and at close range this bullet has over 500 ft lbs of energy to spare. There’s no bright future in store for the recipient of such a projectile.
