This is your ordinary high-volume target shooting ammo, but it’s quality stuff because it’s made in Minnesota by one of the most respected manufacturers in the business. The bullet’s lighter 36 grain weight translates to a faster muzzle velocity and flatter trajectory – 100-yard shots are certainly possible with a good rifle and a functional set of hands. The lead hollow point bullet is unadorned with copper plating, although it has got the nose cavity that delivers the terminal expansion which sends squirrels plummeting from the tree tops. Each round has a straight brass case with a concentric rim that interfaces reliably with an extractor, as well as Federal’s dependable rimfire primer.
