This 10mm cartridge by Federal features a 200 grain HST projectile, with a cannelure that securely fastens its jacket and core together to prevent separation — and promote weight retention — during penetration of a variety of common barriers.
The HST’s nose cavity is designed to resist clogging that could inhibit its ability to initiate wide expansion. The bullet’s potency is further amplified by its integral jacket skives, which strategically weaken it along six symmetrical planes. The result is a bullet that performs consistently during the FBI test protocol and real world self-defense situations alike.
Federal gave this round a nickel plated brass shell casing. That and the HST’s nose profile both promote smooth feeding, and nickel further benefits the round’s ability to resist corrosion. A wise choice for any carry weapon! (Provided that it’s chambered for 10mm, needless to say.)
