This cartridge’s signature feature is its unique X-Point jacketed hollow point bullet. True to its name, the X-Point’s nose cavity contains a slightly sunken X-shaped structure. This acts as a physical barrier to fabric and other debris during penetration, which preserves the nose cavity’s ability to trigger terminal expansion. The jacketed hollow point additionally features a smooth-feeding profile, as well as a notched rim that requires relatively little force to split open. The end result is a broad six-pointed star which inflicts substantial damage to soft tissue!
Browning loads these rounds to a slightly higher muzzle velocity of 920 fps, but this is still standard pressure ammo. Each round has a nickel-plated case to prevent corrosion and assist reliable feeding in semi-automatic firearms.
