165 grain hollow points in the Gold Dot Personal Protection Line by Speer. The 165 grain projectile is the proven Gold Dot bonded, jacketed Hollow point that offers excellent penetration and uniformity in expansion without the feeding concerns of some other hollow point designs. The high retained weight is a huge innovation that Speer worked on with the bonding process and later brought to market as the first bonded hollow point for personal defense.
A fast 1150 feet per second at the muzzle and a proportionately heavy 485 ft. lbs. of energy deliver excellent ballistic performance. Combined with good penetration and the high retention of weight and all the engineering and data science behind this line starts to really make sense for the everyday carry crowd.
Suitable for use in any mainstream .40S&W firearm.
