This cartridge is armed with a straightforward jacketed hollow point projectile. Its terminal performance is just like what you’d expect from the JHP you’d find on a pistol round, which is to say that it will widen out and inflict accentuated damage as it passes through soft tissue. The bullet’s normal 40 grain weight translates to a 1,875 fps muzzle velocity out of a rifle, which is fast enough to keep the bullet supersonic and stabilized until about 150 yards.
CCI produces their fine rimfire ammunition in the state of Idaho. The old company is famous for the reliability of their primers, and their clean-burning propellant and high-quality cases assure great performance every time you let the firing pin fall.
