A solid priced defensive round from Federal Premium in their “Law Enforcement” line. The 230 grain hollow point is a proven round paired with a projectile that has, time and again, been proven reliable for expansion and weight retention.
For a 230 grain projectile this achieves good velocity: 900 feet per second, leading to better penetration and great expansion. The 414 ft. lbs. of energy is adequate for the round and offers a very heavy hitting projectile for defensive use. The controlled expansion of the Hydra-Shok round reliably performs in laboratory and real world scenarios.
