This cartridge’s 125 grain semi-jacketed hollow point is nonmagnetic, safe for lever guns, and capable of striking with around 500 ft lbs of kinetic energy at 25 yards. The SJHP has just enough jacket to reduce barrel fouling and secure deeper penetration, but not so much that its solid lead nose cavity will have a difficult time commencing positive expansion following lower-velocity impact. The jacket’s wavy rim promotes wider mushrooming, and its cannelure averts setback during recoil. Simple yet effective!
