This round’s 36 grain lead hollow point bullet does it all. It exhibits a flat, consistent trajectory thanks to its lighter weight and supersonic muzzle velocity (the 0.125 G1 BC bullet should avoid transonic destabilization until approximately 42 yards). It also punishes small game extra hard thanks to its nose cavity, which will produce some terminal expansion at close-to-medium range.
This is a value pack of ammo: 525 rounds all nestled together in one big paper box. But just because it’s bulk doesn’t mean that Federal omitted their characteristically high-quality primers and brass cases. You can’t reload 22 LR cases (well, technically you can if you really want to), although they make great whistles once they are empty!
