This cartridge’s bullet weighs normal at 55 grains, and its muzzle velocity is precisely what you would have expected from the military’s standard M193 load. The boat tail hollow point begins its life as an empty copper jacket, which is subsequently filled with lead to ensure that its core is rotationally stable. The bullet’s boat tail is simply there to reduce drag, which has the welcome effects of accelerating downrange velocity and lessening the amount of interference wind drift can create.

This is brand new ammo: noncorrosive, Boxer-primed and reloadable. The brass cases are indeed a bit discolored, but that’s only because they weren’t shined up after they were heat-treated at the factory. That means nothing in terms of reliability or reloadability!
