The Federal Premium Law Enforcement HST Tactical product line is one of the most well respected in the defensive ammunition industry today. Re-knowned for their reliable expansion and jacket-core bonding process that ensures maximum weight retention, the Federal HST 9mm Jacketed Hollow Points are what every Law Enforcement Officer and CCW licensee has always wanted. The bullet design features a thick copper jacket with skivved grooves and a cannelure base over a lead core. They designed the hollow point bullet so upon impact, it opens up like a blooming flower. Even though the hollow point bullet mushrooms to just under twice its diameter, it still keeps its jacket and core intact, yet doesn’t over-penetrate. According to testing by Federal, the 9mm is about .354″ in diameter respectively, and when shot thru Ballistics Gel with a single clothing layer, the recovered bullet diameter was .63″+/-. Federal Premium uses the 124 grain JHP bullet, brass cases with nickel plating, non-corrosive Boxer primers, and the +P powder charge, making these rounds some of the most widely used on the market. These +P 9mm rounds have a muzzle velocity of 1208 feet per second, and a muzzle energy of 364 foot pounds. These 124 grain 9mm +P HSTs come in boxes of 50 rounds instead of the usual 20 round box, making this a great value for any defensive shooter. These are American-made and have reloadable cases.
