This round’s 125 grain jacketed hollow point is set to exit a 4” vented barrel at a velocity that is over 300 fps faster than the speed of sound. As such, the bullet’s energy exceeds the minimum threshold advised for self-defense by approximately twofold. The JHP’s flat nose profile creates a large wound channel right on impact. The lead core’s nose cavity isn’t restricted by jacket, which is why reliably commences terminal expansion even at relatively lower velocities.
Federal loads this dual-purpose 357 Mag ammo in Anoka, MN (a city that also happens to be the self-proclaimed Halloween Capital of the World). Each cartridge is completely nonmagnetic and noncorrosive. Federal’s Boxer-primed virgin brass cases are reloadable.
