This shell’s 1,235 fps muzzle velocity gives its shot plenty of zip with which to reach distant clay pigeons. Its full-size 1-1/8 ounce payload of #7.5 lead shot provides an amply dense pattern for crushing clay as well, and Remington’s shot pellets evince all the hardness and roundness they need in order to pattern efficiently.

But you won’t have to endure very much recoil in exchange for such capable long-range performance. A Nitro 27 shell’s powder is specially formulated to burn at the rate which minimizes felt recoil, and its hinged wad collapses to soak up even more recoil.
