A new take on personal defense .380 Auto ammo. This lightweight projectile is made in the TAC-XPD line and offers a fast, high penetration .380 ACP with other premium components to provide an “all-in” defensive carry ammunition solution to small frame carry guns in the .380 Auto platform.

Barnes Ammunition is an ultra-premium producer of specialty defensive ammunition, this is a perfect example: the main component part in this particular ammunition is the engineered bullet: the TAC-XPD projectile. The all copper bullet is a lighter weight (no lead) and features a deep cavity that is engineered to expand to a large, uniform state upon impact.

990 feet per second out of a 2” barrel and with 174 ft. lbs. of energy at muzzle makes this a serious contender for your carry weapon.

Of note: this may not be a perfect “break-in” round for many small frame .380 Autos, they tend to be quite picky and are built around mainstream production rounds for functionality testing at the factories. The lighter weight projectile and the differences in velocity to other factory rounds may make this a round that is not well received by new out of the box firearms in this market segment.
