This round sports a heavy-for-caliber 180 grain projectile. It’s not abnormally heavy, and you’ll still get a healthy 2,100 fps muzzle velocity for your trouble, but the high-momentum projectile really delivers the penetration depth you want when you’re trying to avoid tracking down a wounded animal all day.
This round’s soft point bullet wears a thin layer of shiny plating (sorry – it’s not actually silver). Its plating only makes the bullet look pretty. Its soft point design and notched tapered jacket, on the other hand, supply the devastating terminal expansion which drops deer dead.
