Since 1922, Federal has been bringing unique designs to the table in order to arm shooters with more options for every activity. The Fusion line is optimized for big-game hunting and designed to put big deer down clean with quick & humane effectiveness. This is achieved by use of the well-made Fusion projectile that features a pressure-formed lead core wrapped in a copper jacket that has been electrochemically bonded to the core material; the result of these efforts is a dense round that won’t come apart prematurely when it expands in a target.
The expansion is started by the 150-grain bullet’s soft nose, allowing the round to tumble, yaw, and facilitate faster bleeding while delivering a greater shock to the vital organs. Federal crimps a reloadable brass casing to the projectile at its toothed cannelure, creating a tight assembly that won’t have its accuracy affected by jostling and recoil. Each case is filled with a precise measure of high-energy propellant and fitted with a non-corrosive Boxer primer as its base. The primer is paired with a small splash of sealant at its circumference, sealing the cartridge away from reliability-killing moisture.
