Here in the midwest, the plains are shimmering with heat right now but the fact is that early deer season is only a few months away. Derived for the .30-06 Springfield, the case is simply necked down to accommodate a .270 caliber bullets, which adds excellent trajectory to the already hard-hitting aught six, while losing very little in terms of knock down ability.
The Federal 150 grain Fusion is a boat-tail design which employs a soft point tip to maximize the wound channel. At 2,850 fps at the muzzle and carrying nearly 2,350 ft lbs of energy, this round hits with authority and loses very little in terms of trajectory until out nearing 400 yards.
