The 243 Cartridge is one of the most accurate rounds ever designed by Winchester. Built by Black Hills Ammo as a part of their Gold line, these 243 Winchester bullets are made to the tight tolerances Black Hills is famous for. The 95 grain Hornady SST bullets chosen for the Black Hills 243 Win round is an ideal bullet for the application. The SST or Super Shock Tip bullet has some unique features that make it a great bullet choice. The well-known Hornady red polymer tip is great for ballistic performance, but it also pushes back into the lead core upon impact, opening up the round and causing more damage. The SST also features a copper jacket that is “locked” to the lead core of the bullet using what Hornady calls an “Interlock”, and a mid-body cannelure for better crimping strength. The reloadable cases are hand-picked, highly polished, brass cases with non-corrosive Boxer primers. These rounds have a muzzle velocity of 2950 feet per second and they hit with 1836 foot pounds of muzzle energy. These Black Hills Gold 243 Winchester rounds come packed in boxes of 20 rounds. That’s a perfect amount to range in your new rifle, do some target shooting, or hunt some varmints.
