This 223 Rem cartridge represents the best of both Nebraska’s elite bullet maker and America’s largest ammo manufacturer. As a Hornady, this round’s 55 grain HP Match bullet is designed to deliver superlative accuracy. Its hollow point isn’t there to provide terminal expansion, but rather demonstrates that the bullet’s core is more uniformly distributed than usual, and furthermore that its base is jacketed for more consistent performance during ignition. That combined with Hornady’s customarily concentric jacket promotes great rotational stability for even greater accuracy.

Along with its 3,240 fps muzzle velocity, this round’s bullet serves up a respectable .254 ballistic coefficient. That means you needn’t arc your shot by more than three inches when you’re zeroed in at 250 yards, and also that this round’s bullet doesn’t dip below sonic speed until it’s well past 700 yards. You can make perfect use of that kind of accuracy for varmint hunting, self-defense, and good old-fashioned fun at the range.
