Barnes is world-famous for their solid copper bullets, but the Utah company also loads traditional (and more economical) lead-core bullets. This 223 Rem cartridge features a 55 grain jacketed hollow point boat tail projectile that’ll beeline a path straight to a varmint and immediately proceed to turn it into a former varmint!

This round’s 3,240 fps muzzle velocity and 0.225 G1 BC simply mean that it offers conventional ballistic performance for a 223 55gr load. Expect consistent trajectories while you’re firing this ammo, especially since its bullet’s boat tail effectively decreases the unwanted influence of cross and vertical winds. As a JHP, the bullet is engineered to trigger terminal expansion the instant its nose cavity fills with soft tissue. The bullet will briskly widen out to bore a large wound channel through its target – no rodent or coyote is going to enjoy the experience, to say the least.
