Winchester loads their Silvertip series ammunition with one express purpose: to give you “The Power to Defend.” And Winchester takes so important a promise very seriously, as thoroughly evidenced by this high-quality 10mm Auto ammunition!

This cartridge is loaded with a 175 grain bullet, as well as the powder that bullet needs to achieve a muzzle velocity of 1,200 fps. At that rate the projectile should slap a 25-yard target with 496 ft lbs of kinetic energy – roughly double the minimum power recommended for personal protection.

This round’s JHP gets its lustrous finish from its aluminum plating. It’s pretty, but it provides no real tactical advantage. What does make the JHP effective for personal protection is its deep nose cavity and symmetrical, notched jacket which splits apart into uniform sections to promote rapid yet consistent terminal expansion.
