This round fires an unsophisticated bullet. At 230 grains, it’s by far the most popular weight for the 45. As a full metal jacket, the bullet is only designed to feed smoothly, reduce barrel fouling and fly in a straight line. Its 830 fps muzzle velocity is also perfectly normal. Only two important notes: an FMJ can’t expand and accordingly isn’t ideal for personal defense, and Independence’s bullets are totally nonmagnetic.
Independence’s Boxer-primed brass cases are also totally brand new, as well as suitable for handloading. This is loose-packed ammunition, with 500 rounds all sitting side by side in a big cardboard box. Perfect if you hate small cardboard boxes!
