This cartridge is suitable for self-defense and hunting with any 38 Special revolver rated for overpressure ammo, as well as 357 Magnum pistols and rifles. Its added power means this round’s 125 grain bullet will hit a close-range target with over 220 ft lbs of energy – in other words, more than the minimum threshold typically recommended for neutralizing a human-sized target.

This round’s JHP has only a partial jacket. The exposed lead around the nose cavity’s rim quite naturally cannot cause a feeding jam in a revolver, and helps the bullet expand faster and more reliably.
