This 22 WMR cartridge is from the Maxi-Mag line of ammunition, the very same brand which marked CCI’s entry into the rimfire ammunition market in 1962 and which remains the Idaho-based manufacturer’s most popular rimfire product to this day. This round is a veritable varmint buster courtesy of its 40 grain jacketed hollow point projectile. The bullet’s jacket prevents rapid bore fouling, and also gives it the strength to tunnel through prairie dogs’ mounds and hides alike.
