This 17 Hornady Mach 2 cartridge is designed in every way to make you seem like the Terminator to woodchucks, prairie dogs, squirrels, and their gnawing ilk. The little round’s 17 grain V-MAX projectile is capable of practically instantaneous fragmentation thanks to its polymer tip. That tip is perched over a hollow in the bullet’s swaged lead core, so it builds up tremendous energy before initiating total self-destruction during penetration. Pesky varmints who find a V-MAX inside of them will next find themselves in low orbit.

The V-MAX’s tip also serves to improve its accuracy, as does its concentric and match grade AMP jacket. Each of these 500 rounds’ brass casings were specially selected for their uniformity, so you can enjoy reliable and consistent performance while firing them one after the other.
