Originally designed for law enforcement officers, Federal’s
HST line of jacketed hollow points continues the company’s tradition of
advancing self-defense technologies. Upon striking a target, the HST bullet
expands rapidly to double its caliber as six lead petals push outward and
shield the copper petals made by the bullet’s jacket for strong penetration and
weight retention.

This .40 S&W loading of the HST uses a 165-grain bullet
cased with boxer-primed nickel-plated brass. It achieves a muzzle velocity of
1130 feet per second, delivering 468 foot-pounds of energy.
