These loadings have a muzzle energy that hits at 468-foot pounds, and the muzzle velocity is a fast 1130-feet per second. They come packed in 50 round boxes and you can easily stock up on them for your trips to the range, or for any shooting competition. Grab multiple boxes and stack them up in your safe today!
40 SW ammo is a round that hit the Law Enforcement marketplace and rapidly became the most popular Police carry round. It was originally designed in 1990 by Smith and Wesson using a shortened 10mm case and a standard 180 Grain JHP or Jacketed Hollow Point bullet. After realizing that the shrunken down 10mm could fit properly in their mid-sized 9mm pistols, Smith and Wesson then teamed up with Winchester to make the cartridge we all know today as the .40 caliber S&W. Since its popularity grew so fast and so big, there are multiple grain weights, and bullet designs on the market currently. Even though some Police Departments and Sheriffs offices have switched back to the 9mm Luger due to advances in hollow point technology, many agencies and departments are still using the .40 caliber Smith and Wesson.
