This round’s 125 grain jacketed hollow point is set to exit a 4” vented barrel at a velocity that is over 300 fps faster than the speed of sound. As such, the bullet’s energy exceeds the minimum threshold advised for self-defense by approximately twofold. The JHP’s flat nose profile creates a large wound channel right on impact. The lead core’s nose cavity isn’t restricted by jacket, which is why reliably commences terminal expansion even at relatively lower velocities.
