Someone at Hornady once looked at a 22 WMR and thought “Man, I really like that case, but its bullet is way too big. If only there were a way…” And then he developed the 17 HMR and the world rejoiced. If you like high power out of a rimfire round, then you’re gonna love CCI’s take on the 17 HMR!

This round features a standard weight 17 grain VNT bullet. It’s a ballistically efficient little pill, with a sharp polymer tip to needle in between the air molecules before it and a concentric copper jacket for added stability. The base of that tip stretches out into the VNT’s nose cavity, into which it plunges at high velocity impact to commence eruptive fragmentation. So much energy in so small a package will put any rodent or fox down for good and all!

CCI’s primer and potent propellant magnify this round’s muzzle velocity to a full 100 fps faster than other makers’ analogous 17 HMR loads. That makes this round’s trajectory even flatter yet, so you’ll be able to dome critters as easily as wagging a stick at them.
