This 20 Gauge shell is loaded with a 3/4 ounce sabot slug; required for rifled bore shotguns, but incompatible with smoothbore guns. The slug is made of solid copper and cradled by an effective plastic sabot, so it exhibits excellent in-flight gyroscopic stability. The slug’s ballistically efficient profile ensures that it will conserve at least 1,000 ft lbs of energy until 160 yards and remain supersonic until approximately 190 yards.

The monolithic projectile is quite resilient – able to withstand high-velocity impact and subsequent penetration without breaking apart, hence its tendency to consistently penetrate to an effective depth for deer hunting. The slug’s polymer tip wedges into its nose cavity to force fast and devastating terminal expansion. Even if a deer were capable of comprehending the concept of 20 Gauge ammunition, it would still not know what hit it.
