Hornady’s XTP jacketed hollow point features a drawn gilding metal jacket as opposed to a plated one. That’s why it’s tapered instead of uniformly thick throughout its entire length – a feature which promotes more reliable expansion at lower velocities. The XTP wears notches that help its jacket split apart evenly. Its nose cavity’s rim is also fully jacketed to promote smoother feeding and ward off damage that could have impaired its ability to undergo terminal expansion.
