Fiocchi saw fit to stuff this shell with one ounce of #8 shot instead of 1-1/8 ounces, and they also kept its muzzle velocity modest at 1,200 fps. The result? Pretty tame recoil, which you’re going to appreciate if you’re shooting high-volume, looking for an advantage breaking clays in fast succession or teaching a younger shooter the right way to treat clays (i.e. shooting them).

This round’s cushioned wad isn’t the only reason for its consistent pattern. Fiocchi’s first-run chilled lead shot pellets are abnormally hard, so they avoid becoming deformed and losing their aerodynamic profiles before they exit the muzzle. Clean-burning powder, of course, and translucent low-brass hulls that you’d do well to reload!
