The XTP’s multi-faceted jacket benefits its performance in a number of ways. The jacket’s thickness varies throughout the entire length of the bullet because it is drawn instead of plated. That is why the jacket surrounding the XTP’s rim is so thin – a feature which promotes wider expansion at lower velocities. The XTP’s jacket is exceptionally concentric to provide the rotational stability which is requisite for accuracy. It also shields the nose cavity’s rim, which prevents feeding jams in addition to damage on impact that could impede subsequent terminal expansion.
