This cartridge’s monolithic projectile benefits its performance in three important ways. First, copper can’t put lead fouling inside a barrel, so this ammo conserves accuracy out in the field. Second, copper has a lower density than lead. At 77 grains this round’s light-for-caliber bullet is going to kick you with perceptibly less recoil. Third, copper is a tough metal. The SCHP’s resultant superior weight retention ensures it will retain the momentum it needs to burrow deeply into soft tissue.
This round’s bullet is designed to deliver significant terminal expansion. When that wide nose cavity fills up with sufficiently pressurized soft tissue, it will force five hard petals to stick out and gouge a wide wound channel.
Sellier & Bellot is a very old manufacturer headquartered in the Czech Republic. There they mint and load the uniform brass cases and Boxer primers which reliable ammo needs!
