A classic clay round with the common #8 shot and the simple build that shoots pretty mildly and offers enough of a pattern and payload to help you knock more clays out of the sky. This is a very straightforward shell loading and the Remington “Gun Club Target Load” knows what it is, and isn’t trying to be something it is not. That said, this load will easily fill in for small game hunting if you have the right conditions, where it will make sense for animals like squirrel and rabbit as well as pigeon at anywhere from 5 yards to about 20 yards. The amount of patterning out to about 20 yards will help to ensure there is success after every trigger pull.

The 1 ounce shot cup offers more than enough shot to easily take out clays. The #8 shot is a good compromise and offers a bit softer shooting than the other most popular shot sizes and the standard length cartridge (a 2 ¾” shell) means this is not trying to hide anything and it will perform its job well. The budget loadout is suitable for reloading, but may not make sense given the extremely low prices this line has – just buy more new.
