An incredibly solid round for the .45 ACP with a +P rating and a 230 grain jacketed hollow point which utilizes the proven XTP bullet to great success. This is the Hornady Custom, .45 Auto load for those who want more performance and hotter loads.

Note: +P ammunition is over pressure loaded ammo from factory. It can be dangerous or deadly if fired from a firearm that is not capable of supporting the increased pressure values that the ammunition is loaded to. The specifications for the load stipulate a much higher pressure for this +P round than the standard round. It is not suitable for shooting out of your firearm unless your firearm is sufficiently built. You can reference your owner’s manual to determine if your gun can fire +P or +P+ ammunition.

The +P designation and the increased powder charge give this .45 ACP with a heavy projectile some added life with 950 feet per second velocity and 461 ft. lbs. of energy out of the muzzle. This translates to increased penetration for the projectile which leads to better stopping power, and it increases the amount of energy delivery at impact, which, when paired with the proven performance of the XTP bullet can cause massive would channels and exceptional terminal ballistics.
