If you’re looking for trustworthy 38 Special ammunition for personal defense – and you’d like enough of it for training – then we’ve already got a case of Winchester Silvertip with your name on it.
This cartridge’s 110 grain projectile is fairly light, and as such exhibits a flat and easy-to-aim trajectory without producing above-standard chamber pressure as a result. The JHP’s jacket is nickel-plated for cosmetic purposes only. Its profile is engineered to promote smooth feeding, precise accuracy and uniform expansion. Its notched rim is designed to split apart evenly as the nose cavity fills with pressurized soft tissue, thus assuring some expansion even at lower velocities.
This ammo’s brass cases aren’t nickel-plated, although they are strong, sturdy and reloadable a number of times. Winchester’s primers and powder create minimal residue as they deliver consistent recoil and muzzle velocities!
