This 308 Win cartridge is loaded with a 155 grain hollow point boat tail bullet. The HPBT is strictly for target shooting (or maybe dispatching small game), as its hollow point is not actually engineered to provide rapid terminal expansion. The opening in this HPBT’s tip is there because its jacket was drawn first, and subsequently filled with its lead core. The HPBT’s evenly distributed lead core and ballistically efficient tapered boat tail both contribute to its 0.457 ballistic coefficient and resultant heightened accuracy.
