This .30-06 load is a 180 grain projectile with a Core-Lokt Soft point profile, inside of a brass cartridge case and with a Boxer primer, that is easily reloadable.
This has always been a top choice for hunters because it’s always been a fantastic performer. For years though, it enjoyed almost mythic status among big game hunters, and it hasn’t changed. The rest of the big game rounds in the world changed around it, perhaps as a result of it. The performance has always been good and as a result it’s always been a popular round to copy. The 2700 feet per second velocity and 2913 ft. lbs. of energy out of the muzzle is not groundbreaking, but it’s been the same for decades. It’s only been in the last 8-10 years that there have even been more than 1 or 2 viable competitors to the round.
Remington is still as good as it’s always been, it’s a great round for everything from deer to elk to moose and it hits hard, with the nicely deforming soft point projectile. It’s a piece of American hunting history.
