Hornady introduced the SST bullet back in 1998. It was their answer to the Nosler Ballistic Tip, and it was a good answer at that. The 95 grain polymer tipped bullet combines a sharp meplat, concentric secant ogive profile jacket, and tapered boat tail to raise its G1 ballistic coefficient all the way to 0.355. The result is a bullet that only drops -6.3” 100 yards after clearing a 200-yard zero.
Once the SST’s flat trajectory has been interrupted by a deer, it commences shockingly fast (yet controlled) terminal expansion. The SST is equipped with an InterLock ring, which mechanically intertwines its core and jacket, as well as a mid-body cannelure that does the same. That secures effectively deep penetration for pinning down a wide variety of American medium game.
This 243 Win ammo’s special propellant will amplify any rifle’s muzzle velocity by as much as 200 fps.
