We wish we could guarantee that Winchester Silvertip ammunition is effective for defense against werewolves, but this 10mm round’s distinctive looking jacketed hollow point doesn’t actually contain a scrap of silver. Its jacket is nickel-plated for better cosmetics – nothing more. All we can do is advise against going to places where werewolves were recently spotted.

This round is certainly worth its salt if you’re only interested in defending yourself against human threats, of course. The Silvertip JHP features an array of symmetrical notches radiating out of its hollow point nose cavity. These ensure that the bullet can reliably open up wide after plunging into a soft medium at mid-to-high velocity. The 10mm’s aggressive power only makes its bullet that much more effective. At 25 yards it still conserves about double the minimum energy typically recommended for defensive shooting.

Silvertip ammo has been on the market since the ‘70s. It’s been improved upon by Winchester since its debut, and it sports the smooth-feeding brass cases, surefire Boxer primers and clean-igniting propellant that supply clockwork functionality in all semi-auto firearms.
