Hornady once used Doppler radar to make an interesting discovery: Most polymer tipped bullets’ tips heat up so much due to air friction that they actually deform to compromise accuracy. That’s why they invented the ELD Match’s Heat Shield tip, which remains sharp and perfectly centered no matter how intensely it is baked by aerodynamic heating.

The Heat Shield tip gives way to the ELD Match’s elegant secant ogive geometry, which measurably decreases drag. The ELD Match’s ballistic efficiency becomes even higher thanks to its long boat tail, and its Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket is so concentric that it guarantees exemplary rotational stability. All in all, this 6.5 PRC round’s 147 grain bullet boasts an astounding 0.697 G1 (0.351 G7) ballistic coefficient – few rifle bullets will fly flatter and resist crosswinds better than Hornady’s ELD Match.
