When your final goal is to achieve one ragged hole at extreme distance, choose these 6.5mm Creedmoor rounds from Federal. This ammunition is intended to match the consistency and performance of custom handloads but with the convenience of factory pricing and packaging. Pulling out all of the stops, Federal builds these cartridges using brass casings of uniform dimensions that can be reloaded afterward. The casings wear clean-igniting Boxer primers at their bases which are coupled with moisture-blocking sealant for reliable function after long periods of storage. Crimped at the top of the round is a 130-grain open tip match (OTM) projectile.
This particular OTM is the Hybrid and is designed by Berger, an American company with over six decades of experience. Berger has an immaculate reputation for accuracy due to their bullet’s having dense lead cores and exact jacket measurements. The Hybrid bullet has a sleek upper wall and a tapered boat-tail rump which both contribute to drag resistance in flight and by extension, a greater ballistic coefficient. This ammo belongs to Federal’s Gold Medal line, a brand that is trusted by manufacturers and precision rifle gunsmiths to proof their work. This ammo should only be used with 1:8 twist rate (or faster) barrels.
