This round’s 180 grain bullet is Hornady’s own XTP, which improves on the traditional jacketed hollow point in a few key ways. Its jacket is exceptionally concentric to promote better accuracy with a handgun. That same jacket is serrated so it can split apart in a uniform fashion as its nose cavity delivers devastating terminal expansion. The XTP’s jacket also thickens toward its base to control expansion even more effective, and shields the lead at its tip to prevent damage on impact that could inhibit proper expansion.
