The 308 Win is by all means predominantly a hunting cartridge — it’s perhaps the most popular for that purpose in the United States, if not the world. This is not to say that shooting targets with a hunting rifle can not be immensely satisfying. This round features the intensely accurate ELD Match projectile. The bullet’s swaged core has drawn around it an AMP jacket, one which for all intents and purposes can be considered to have zero wall thickness variation, and zero runout for that matter. The ELD Match’s accuracy further stems from its secant ogive profile, as well as the tapered base dictated by its boat tail design. This bullet is smartly equipped with a Heat Shield tip, a symmetrical spear of polymer which preserves the meplat by being unsusceptable to the effects of aerodynamic heating.
