This 308 Win cartridge is designed solely to turn your rifle into a machine for self-defense. A Hornady Critical Defense round, its 155 grain FTX projectile’s Flex Tip will initiate expansion beginning at the moment of impact to both neutralize a target quickly as well as reduce the chance of dangerous overpenetration. The FTX’s high antimony core and heavy jacket are kept from separating during penetration via Hornady’s InterLock ring, so the bullet still retains the weight requisite for deep penetration. Together the bullet’s secant ogive profile and symmetrical polymer tip give it a flat trajectory, so you’ll have the accuracy required to hit a fast approaching threat.
A Critical Defense round is a dependable one. Hornady’s sensitive primer is as good to have on your side when you’re defending your castle as it is when you’re hunting for whitetail, and this cartridge’s propellant burns especially quickly to produce a flash that won’t leave you blinded after firing your first shot. This round’s brass casing is decked out in a thin layer of nickel to ensure it cycles smoothly and doesn’t easily erode when exposed to atmospheric moisture.
