This round’s 175 grain bullet is laden with accuracy enhancing features. You will note its distinctive sapphire blue Slipstream polymer tip right away. The AccuChannel groove in its shank is concealed by the case, but it too helps to significantly reduce in-flight drag. The Terminal Ascent’s resultant 0 .520 G1 ballistic coefficient (0.258 G7) means that the bullet will retain 1,500 ft lbs of elk-killing energy at an astounding 400 yards, as well as rise by only 3.77” en route to a 200-yard target.
The Terminal Ascent’s most impressive performance begins upon impact. Its tough copper shank and bonded lead core deliver the superior weight retention the Terminal Ascent needs to penetrate deeply at any range. Its tip is furthermore designed to initiate reliable expansion at significantly lower velocities than conventional hunting bullets.
Federal Premium’s fine primers and propellant charges both see to clockwork ignition, and their brass cases are nickel-plated to promote smoother feeding in any hunting rifle. Nickel also wards off harmful corrosion while you’re trekking through damp and humid conditions!
