This cartridge is loaded with the 125 grain GMX by Hornady. That’s a lightweight bullet, so it achieves a fast 3,000 fps muzzle velocity and resultant flat trajectory. The GMX’s solid copper body gives it great rotational stability, and its sharp polymer tip and sleek boat tail keep its trajectory faster and its downrange punch harder.
The GMX flies like a competition bullet, but it hits like a hunting bullet. A bullet that’s made of solid copper boasts 95%+ weight retention – assurance that it will cut right through to the critter’s boiler room. And because the GMX’s polymer tip is positioned over a deep hollow nose cavity, it forces rapid terminal expansion over a wide range of velocities.
